Rashad Taylor Qualifies for House District 55
ATLANTA – Democrat Rashad Taylor officially qualified today for the Georgia House of Representatives in the 55 th District.
“This year, under Republican control, we left too much of the people's business undone. Georgians are working longer hours for less wages. Gas prices, food prices, forclosures, and health insurance costs are all on the rise. And Georgians got no relief. When elected, I will fight for an increase in the minimum wage, increase funding for Grady Hospital and PeachCare, and a strong law to curb predatory mortgage lending. And I will fight to ensure we restore the more than $1.6 billion the Republicans cut from education funding. I will work hard to make Atlanta and Georgia a place where equality and prosperity for all can thrive.”
Taylor, a political consultant, was named as a “Rising Star” in 2007 by Campaigns and Elections Magazine. He has worked for Senator Vincent Fort and managed numberous successful campaigns in Georgia . Taylor is on a leave of absence from his position as political director at the Democratic Party of Georgia in order to run for office. Taylor has served on numerous boards, including NARAL Pro-Choice Georgia and Atlanta Jobs with Justice. Taylor , 27, lives in Washington Park and attended Morehouse College .
